Legara, Inc. is seeking an experienced California-licensed Behavioral Health therapist (PhD, PsyD LCSW, LMFT) to provide remote outpatient telehealth psychotherapy for an underserved FQHC patient panel. This role offers flexible scheduling, robust administrative support, and the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on patients who face significant barriers to mental health care.

You’ll see a diverse population of predominantly low-income, Spanish-speaking adults, children, and teenagers with mild to moderate mental health needs.

Key Details

\n

\n
• Schedule: 40 hours per week availability. Weekdays; variable with multiple week notice, mutually agreed upon
\n
• Hours: No nights or weekends unless desired
\n
• Setting: Fully remote (must be located in California); On-site training required in San Diego, CA
\n
• Engagement Length: Open-ended
\n
• Credentialing: 4 - 8 weeks prior to training
\n
• Compensation: $100,000 - $168,000 annually, 1099
\n
• You earn $65 per completed encounter, with a guaranteed minimum of $1,940 per week ($100,000/year). Each pay period, you're paid whichever is greater. Encounters include both intakes (60 minutes) and follow-ups (30 minutes).
\n
• With a typical full-time caseload of about 40 hours per week, clinicians can earn up to $3,900/week, or up to $187,200 over 48 working weeks.
\n
• Support: Administrative and scheduling team manages patient bookings, templates, and reminders
\n

What You’ll Do

\n

\n
• Provide Telehealth (phone or video) Psychotherapy: 16–30 minutes each (up to 45 minutes for intakes)
\n
• Chart directly in the health center’s EMR (NextGen)
\n
• Join brief care-team huddles and collaborate with primary care, behavioral health, and case management staff
\n
• Provide culturally responsive care; Spanish fluency is required
\n
• Follow the FQHC’s standard medical staff oversight and QA policies
\n

Must-Have Qualifications

\n

\n
• Current, unrestricted license to practice psychotherapy in California
\n
• Strong technological skills and ability to quickly learn complex healthcare software (NextGen experience preferred)
\n
• Comfortable serving Medi-Cal and uninsured patients
\n
• Secure broadband internet, webcam, and a private workspace for telepsychiatry
\n
• Malpractice coverage: $1M/$3M base policy
\n

Preferred Qualifications

• Professional fluency in Spanish (speaking, reading, documentation)
\n
• Previous experience working in safety-net healthcare or with underserved populations
\n
• Located in San Diego county or willing to travel for extensive on-site training
\n
